Gifts

A Gift in Kind is a transfer of non-cash property (eg. automobile, appliances, food, artwork, furniture, etc.) by a donor to Eston College.

Please note that the following gifts are not receiptable: donation of service, time or skill.
If you are interested in donating non-cash property, call us at 1-306-789-1235.

Stocks, mutual funds & segregated funds

When individuals make donations of shares to a charity, they do not need to declare as taxable income any of the capital gain that they would have otherwise had to include had they sold the shares and given the cash proceeds instead (2008 Charities Handbook). Please call us if you would like to discuss such a gift.

Eston College is a member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC) and carries their seal.

Ministries displaying the Seal adhere to these 9 standards:

  • A Declared Christian Ministry

  • An Independent Active Governing Board

  • An Independent Audit

  • Public Financial Disclosure

  • An Audit Review Committee

  • Pursuit of Integrity

  • Declared Stewardship Policy

  • Program Effectiveness & Efficiency

  • Code of Accountability

Spending of funds is confined to programs and projects approved by the organization. Should a donor choose to restrict a contribution for use in a particular program or project, we will honour that restriction, with the understanding that, when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason as determined by the organization, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where most needed.
